Cabarrus County Jail Roster Overview
The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office runs the Detention Center at 30 Corban Avenue SE in Concord. Its public inmate roster, called P2C Inmate Inquiry, is free and open to anyone. It updates as people are booked and released, so it reflects current custody rather than a fixed list. A search returns the name, primary charge, arrest date, and booking agency, and each result links to a detail page.
The roster has limits. It only shows people held in the Cabarrus jail. It does not show state prison inmates held by the Department of Adult Correction, federal inmates in Bureau of Prisons custody, or people booked in another county. For those, separate locators apply, which the released inmates page covers in full.
How to Use the Cabarrus County Inmate Roster
The roster lives on the county online services site. Before you start, turn off any pop-up blocker, since the system uses pop-up detail windows. The steps below cover a basic Cabarrus inmate search.
- Open the Cabarrus P2C Inmate Inquiry.
- Enter a last name, and a first name if you have it, then run the search.
- Review the result grid: name, primary charge, arrest date, and booking agency.
- Click a row to open the detail page with charges, docket numbers, bond, and the next court date.
If a name returns no result, the person may have been released, booked elsewhere, or held under a different spelling. Try the last name alone, then use the grid filter to narrow.
Cabarrus County Inmate Search Fields
The public search is simple by design. You search by name, then refine the results in the grid. The grid filter can sort by race, sex, age, or booking agency, and you can change how many rows show at once.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Last Name | Text | No | Main search field on the public page. |
| First Name | Text | No | Narrows results when many share a last name. |
| Filter Inmate List | Grid filter | No | Filter by race, sex, age, or booking agency. |
| Row Count | Dropdown | No | Show 5, 10, 20, 50, or all results. |
What a Cabarrus County Inmate Profile Shows
The detail page packs the key facts into one view. A sampled Cabarrus profile listed the person's name, age, race, and sex, plus an arrest date, a release date, and the next court date. A charges table tied each charge to a status, a docket number, and a bond amount. The fields below are what you can expect to see.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Name, Age, Race, Sex | Basic identity fields from booking. |
| Arrest Date | When the person was taken into custody. |
| Charge and Status | The offense and whether it is awaiting trial or resolved. |
| Docket Number | Links the charge to a court case, such as 25CR396845-120. |
| Bond Amount | Secured, unsecured, or no bond, listed per charge and as a total. |
| Next Court Date | The scheduled hearing, subject to change. |
| Release Date | Populated once the person is released; blank while in custody. |
A profile can also show a hold, such as an immigration detainer, alongside ordinary charges. The roster warns that charges can change, and it tells users to call the Clerk of Court at 704-262-5500 for current disposition.
Cabarrus County Jail Facilities

Booking Process in Cabarrus County
Booking starts when an arrested person arrives at the Detention Center. Staff record identity, charges, and the arresting agency. In North Carolina, a magistrate handles the first appearance and sets conditions of release. That is when bond is set: it may be a secured amount, an unsecured promise, or no bond at all for certain holds.
From there, the case moves to court. The roster shows a next court date, but that date can change. The jail record is not the court record, so the roster directs users to the Clerk for the current status. For the full case history, search the person's name in the Cabarrus County court records portal.

How to Contact a Cabarrus County Inmate
Mail is scanned. The jail scans incoming mail and sends the copy to the inmate, with legal mail the only exception. Many items are returned, including cash, checks, money orders, perfumed or altered envelopes, and most non-paper materials. An inmate can receive up to eight photos. Use this address: Inmate's Name, PO Box 790, Concord, NC 28026.
The mail and property page lists every banned item. Phone service runs through NCIC Inmate Communications. Inmates cannot receive incoming calls, and three-way calling is not allowed. Set up a prepaid account by calling 1-800-943-2189 or visiting the provider.
| Call Type | Rate |
|---|---|
| Local | $0.17 per minute |
| In-State | $0.17 per minute |
| Out-of-State | $0.17 per minute |
| International | $0.35 per minute |
The phone account page covers setup and the per-minute rates with no connection fees.
Commissary and Inmate Funds
Money for an inmate goes onto a canteen account. There are two ways to deposit. You can deposit online through the Inmate Canteen service, or you can use the kiosk in the Sheriff's Office lobby between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday. The jail does not accept cash, checks, or money orders sent through the mail.
The canteen account page links the online deposit service used by the Cabarrus jail.
Cabarrus County Jail Programs
The Detention Center runs reentry programs that started in 2012. Since then, more than 93,000 inmates have taken at least one class, 53 community members have taught, and volunteers have given over 18,134 classroom hours. Programs include AA and NA recovery groups, a women's domestic violence class, and Wellness Recovery Action Planning offered in English and Spanish.
The Stepping Up Initiative, supported by county commissioners in 2017, connects people with mental health or substance use needs to services. The jail partners with Daymark Recovery, and the Cabarrus Health Alliance provides case managers for pre-release and post-release planning.
The inmate programs page describes Stepping Up, WRAP, and the volunteer-led classes.
Roster Disclaimers and Current Disposition
The Cabarrus roster comes with clear warnings, and they matter. The Sheriff states that people listed as arrested and charged should be considered innocent until proven guilty in court. The charge shown can change as a case moves, and the record may not reflect the most current status. Bond can also shift after a first appearance or a later hearing.
Because of this, the roster is a snapshot, not a verdict. For the current court disposition of a charge, the roster tells users to contact the Clerk of Court at 704-262-5500. Treat the jail data as a starting point, then confirm anything important against the court file. Using the roster for hiring, housing, or credit screening is not allowed, since those uses fall under separate federal rules.
Visitor Dress Code and Conduct
Visitors must follow a dress and conduct code. Shoes and shirts are required, and appropriate underclothing is required. See-through fabrics, halter or tube tops, short shorts, and mini-skirts are not allowed. Smoking and impairing substances are banned, and a disturbance can end a visit.
The jail uses a three-level suspension system for rule violations. A Level 1 issue can lead to refusal of an initial visit. A Level 2 violation can mean a one-month loss of visiting privileges. A Level 3 violation can mean an indefinite loss. Suspensions can be reviewed and appealed to the Visitation Supervisor, so ask about the process if a visit is denied.
